LOVE this quick & easy dip. I make it every time I have extra avocados that I don’t want to go bad.
2-Minute Creamy Avocado Dip ALL DAY EVERY DAY.
Alright, friends. The time has come for me to share the most basic of all recipes with you.
Most of my meals in the last month have involved this dip. I am obsessed with it. It’s not fancy. It’s not super impressive. It’s not anything you’ve never heard of. And it’s not even like I’m using this IN my meal (we have magic green sauce for that, duh).
I’m just regularly snacking on this while I’m making dinner because it’s really, really simple… and REALLY, REALLY GOOD.
Even though this is ridiculously easy, I feel part of my job is to just show you what I love eating in my real life, so here it is. This is what I love eating in real life. 2-Minute Creamy Avocado Dip, coming right up.
How To Make This Avocado Dip Happen
We start by mashing avocados. This takes approximately one minute, depending on your ninja-level mastery of avocado mashing.
And now, we stir in some garlic powder, salt, and just a nice big thwap of plain Greek yogurt (anyone else see that episode? thank u for the pro tip, Antoni ♡).
And now, a little lime juice.
Oh, hey! You’re done!
What I Love About This Recipe
This avocado dip is ultra-creamy, with a boost of tang and protein and some friendly probiotics from the yogurt. The flavor is tangy, salty, and super satisfying. It’s something that can materialize almost instantaneously when you need something happy to eat STAT. You don’t even need to dirty up a cutting board (unless you want cilantro, which, yes, is delicious).
Also worth noting that this avocado dip spreads nicely on tacos – kind of like a mash-up between sour cream and straight avocado. Yum. Personally, I recommend this dip + these tacos.
I mean, you definitely have two minutes, right? I think the time has come.
2-Minute Avocado Dip: FAQs
Yum! If you like spicy, a quick sprinkle of cayenne or a chopped-up jalapeño can add some heat.
Sure! Add some chopped fresh cilantro if you want! I like it with cilantro, but I often eat this avocado dip without cilantro so I don’t have to wash a cutting board. 🙂
The avocado should still be somewhat firm when you press on it gently. The skin should be dark, not green. If it’s green, let it sit at room temp for a day or two to darken.

YUM!! I’m a fan of all things avocado. I bet plantain chips would be great with this dip too!
Yum! That would be great!
Awesome recipe. Can’t wait to try it. Can i store it in the refrigerator and have it as well? If so how many days would it stay good?
Uh its Guacamole by the way. Not Yummy avocado dip. Its Guacamole. But I have to agree with you! Avocados are the best!
So easy to make, so light, so freakin addictively good!! I’m too old to use such a phrase, but this recipe calls for it!
Avocado is a staple food in my house. This sounds amazing! I’ll be stopping at Whole Foods to pick up some Kite Hill Greek yogurt today so I can make this. I’ll also be picking up another jicama to slice into chips. It makes a great vessel for dipping into guac. If not for that crunchy tuber, I’d be eating fried corn chips daily. Not good-lol!
This looks amazing!!! I’m trying to eat healthier and trying not to eat tortilla chips as much. I was wondering what you eat/recommend to use for dippin’s for this dip? Thanks! =)
Me too, I’m really trying to avoid tortilla chips but it’s hard! Sometimes in life you just need a little crunch.
This would be great with some veggies (carrots, peppers, etc.) or with some sweet potato chips. 🙂
Instead of tortilla chips I will slice up cucumbers for the crunch!
antoni & avocados are the 2 main loves of my life – puhleeeze follow the fab 5 on ig. they fill my days with so much joy + positivity + fabulosity (<– def a word.). xo
It’s so funny I got this email today. Last night I was trying to make a sauce to put on my halibut. I had an avocado that needed to be used up. I put ALMOST everything in this recipe, plus some leftover cilantro, but was still missing something. I didn’t have any limes! It turned out just ok, but partly because of your recipes my palate has turned let’s say, a little snobish! Your recipes are so awesome, and get excited every time I get an email from you. You’ve upped my culinary game! From a fellow Minnesotan
Thanks for the comment, Todd! 🙂
awesome recipe
Gonna have to try this. What kind of chips are those??
Did you use full fat Greek yogurt or one of the %s? FYI my awesome 4yo will eat this with a spoon (or just his fingers…) He’s and avo addict!
We like to use full fat/whole milk yogurt!
Antoni for the win!!!
Is it one avocado or two? Recipe says one, but pic has two! Looks so yummy! Thanks for sharing!
I just made it. Super yummy
Two avocados
Hi Meredith! The recipe just has one – Lindsay doubled it for the photos here. 🙂
You could always use kitchen sheers to snip off some cilantro….
Christine, you’re a genius! I’ll do that next time.
Thanks for the tip! 🙂
Oh man, this is so timely! I was craving Avocado today and I have some yogurt in the fridge that needs to be eaten. 😉 Looks awesome and I can’t wait to try it!
Hope you enjoy it, Molly!
hadn’t ever thought of adding greek yogurt to cream-ify guacamole, good idea, thank you!
I went shopping today and bought the ingredients I needed to make this. I’m eating it right now. I have mixed thoughts on this dip. I like how smooth and creamy it is. But mine turned out more white than green, even though I followed the recipe exactly. It tastes more like Greek yogurt than avocado. I think I’ll make this again but with less Greek yogurt.
Drooling over this dip! Looks so DELISH! I always have avocados and greek yogurt on hand—definitely making ASAP.
Hope you enjoy it, Bri!
we make something similar to this and spread it on turkey wraps, it’s SO amazing!
Yum! Sounds amazing!
True to the recipe! Only took two minutes and it’s super yummy! Going great with my corona 🙂
Glad to hear that, Alice!
I’ve never thought of adding greek yogurt! I need to give this a go, it seems lovely!

You had me at 2 minutes, ,avocado and then you matched you nail polish to the dish too, I’m all over this:-) Pass me a tortilla:-)
This was delicious… and so easy! I used 1/8 tsp of salt because my tortilla chips were already salty. Thanks for sharing this awesome recipe with us!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Great recipe, it was delicious. I have a few recipes that people can make and try on my blog.
This was so yummy!! I just whipped it up to use as a spread instead of butter or mayo for sandwiches. Especially my breaky sandwiches with a fried egg and some ham :). Super easy and tasty! I used a splash of white wine vinegar instead of lime juice and it’s very good! Used a bit less yogurt as my avocado was on the smaller side. So perfect! 🙂
Sounds amazing! Glad you enjoyed it!
Yummy! Thanks for sharing the secrete.
This dip was a total win last night. We used my husbands homemade yogurt and it turned out beautifully! Love your sugar free posts!
Glad to hear that, Lisa!
Ovacado you said….. This I should try
Avacado is one of the good food for healthy skin. you explained with the picture and neatly blogged. keep Blogging.
Delicious, quick & simple! I used as a dip for a roasted artichoke.
